Mathenus took a deep breath, his eyes scanning the area. All of Silvermoon had gathered here, to listen to the Magistrate go on about the political situation with the Alliance, how they should stay together. Mathenus didn't really care how his people allied themselves, as long as he stayed employed. His current employer believed that the Quel'Dorei were far better off without the Alliance. So, for now, did Mathenus as well.
The Magistrate began his speech, Mathenus knew it well. This time, he was payed to kill the Magistrate in the most noticeable way, to let everyone know why they should stand alone. Mathenus had already planned it out, after the last word from the Magistrate, Mathenus would make his move. As he always did.
The Magistrate was becoming animated, his movements and voice becoming more spectaculor and fantastic with every passing moment. Mathenus prepared himself, his form changing. He limbs elongated, his face stretched as his muscles began to bulge and fur began to grow. In moments, a Burgandy Worgen had replaced Mathenus. He prepared himself, and as the crowd began to applaud, the assasination began.
Mathenus stepped out from the shadows, grabbing the Magistrate. With a shriek and a horrible tearing sound, the stage was covered in blood, one half of the Magistrate in each gargantuan paw.
The crowd erupted in horrific screams as Mathenus roared for effect, grining internally at this job. He threw both halves of the Magistrate into the crowd, the Quel'Dorei running every which way in their panic. Individually, his race was genius, but together, a Hawkstrider became smarter than these buffoons. Once someone panicked, everyone else did as well.
The guards recovered quickly, drawing their weapons on this murdering beast. Mathenus let out a laugh, knowing even they were too slow to catch him. But, his employer wanted a show. And a show he would get. The nearest guard charged at him with a spear, futily attempting to gore Mathenus upon it. The guard was picked up and returned to his comrades, via air travel. The guards attempted to hinder Mathenus to no end, but not one could score a wound upon the Worg-Elf.
Mathenus knew it had been long enough, and so he leaped into the crowd, running like a wild animal to the Bazzar. In the busy crowd he vanished, returning to his normal form and blending in. It was what he was best at.
His benefactor would plant the idea of separation, and Mathenus would get paid. But the entire race of the High Elves would forever be scarred by this event, and Mathenus would go down as the most infamous assassin of all time.
